Adam Leslie comedian
We’re in Vegas this week. We heard, through three different sources, that Adam Leslie is dead. Here’s his bio, from the Comedy Stop website:
A second-generation comedian, Adam Leslie began his stand-up career at the age of eight, performing alongside his father. Adam became one of the youngest National headliners on the comedy club circuit. Then during his ‘leave’ from stand-up, Adam was nominated for an Emmy for a script on the television series “Fame.” He appeared on Seinfeld and was the voice of the animated television series “Dilbert.” Adam has appeared on “Evening at the Improv,” “Comic Strip Live,” Showtime’s “Comedy Club Network” and “Comedy on the Road.”
Anyone who came up on the east coast in the 1980s probably knew and/or worked with Adam. (The Male Half did one of his first road gigs– the Comic Strip in Lauderdale– with him, back in 1984.) He was a regular headliner at the Comedy Factory Outlet as well.
He lived in Las Vegas until his death. As details become available, we’ll post them. (Feel free to post any details in the comments section.)

Hi Alison,
I am Adam’s brother. I want to confirm that Adam passed in Las Vegas on August 11. I’ll post details as they come available.
He spoke of you often and shared your sentiments . . .
West Coast Comedian Jaime Monroy:
As a comedian who emceed and booked many shows along the west coast with Bob Zany and Jeff Wayne in our heyday of the 80’s and 90’s, I brought on stage every funny person that we all have either heard of, known, or made it big!
But there was this one new guy from the east coast, who I brought up on stage a couple of times and he was brilliant!!! and then I never saw him again. I only heard that he had moved on from stand up to go write for television. His name, Adam Leslie.
I am saddened to hear of his passing…Adam had the rare combination of a good comedian who was also a good performer, I saw Adam give great performances! My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Hello, Joel!
I consider myself to be one of Adam’s thousands of friends in the industry, and would make it a point to be in Vegas for some sort of a memorial service.
I’m kind of technology-challenged, but since all of Adam’s friends can’t make it, maybe we could have some sort of web-based memorial service (hopefully somebody reading this — Dave Edison, perhaps?, or maybe it could be done through Shecky — could figure that out).
RIP, Adam.
I am Jon Leslie. Adam was my brother. He was a great brother to me…I love him very much. I miss him beyond words. Thanks everyone for posting. If you need any info about Adam let me know.-Jon Ray Leslie

I worked with Adams for two weeks in Vegas and Laughlin. What a nice man and a real strong comic. He was invariably polite and was a very articulate and interestng guy. Very talented. Very sorry to hear he is gone.- Mike Donovan
Wow I had no idea. Had a blast with Adam when he was in Sarasota Fl working at Giggles with Mitchell Walters traveled with him down to the Comic strip in Miami some real fun times. Still have his autographed photo telling me I was the only person that could stay up later than him. I am shocked. He was a great talent
Jon,
My late husband Brian Craft, myself and Adam shared many condos, hotels all over the USA. I always loved Adam, his Billie Holiday music and his Wizzard of Oz bit along with the whole act. Bless you all, Adam and Brian I’m sure are still making folks laugh, only not in this area code. Hugs, Kelly
Watching some of Adam’s stuff online. He was sooo
funny. He turned me on to Tom Waits and we both had a great love for Elvis Costello I think of Adam everytime i listen to them. Miss him 🙁
I grew up with Adam – his sister Jody was my best friend up until her death in 1998. Adam was also a huge love of mine, and thankfully we were able to share those last years of Jody’s life along with their other siblings, Jon and Joel. I dream about Adam and Jody frequently and miss them every day.
Joel and Jon,
I am so sorry to have come across this website and learn of Adam’s and Jody’s passing. I was friends with your Mom and Dad back in the 60’s, when you guys were very young, and I waited tables at the Karmel in Loch Sheldrake.
Your whole family was very dear to me back then. I last saw you back in ’71 in Miami when I was there visiting.
If Sherri is still around please send her my best.
Again I am so sorry, I lost my younger brother back in ’06. The feelings and memories never fade.
Hang in there
Irving,
I think I remember you??? I remember a certain Irving name and sage??? I was pretty young. I just saw this post. Thank you and I’m sorry about your brother. I’ve lost almost everyone in my family. Try to look me up on YouTube or Facebook ..I’m weary of the putting my email out on the Internet but would love to hear from you by email. I’m a musician and have some videos …hopefully we could get in touch.
Jon,
I knew Adam in 1976 and 1977 when I worked with him in two different comedy/music groups. The first group was with a trumpet player and band leader Carlo Roma and secondly in a group that Adam led. That group was called Adam Leslie and Adams Ribs. We played in Florida for the most part in nice rooms such as the Ramada Inn in Ft. Walton Beach, and in West Palm at the Holiday Inn. We also played in Myrtle Beach at the Holiday Inn as well as the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke Va, and at the Holiday in in Manassas, Va. I could tell you many stories of our travels with him. We were a very successful group and I have many fond memories of that time. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Adam’s passing. My brother Dennis Monroe still plays in bands in Citrus County, Florida. The name of his band is Rock Steady. I no longer play and now live in Lincoln, Ne. I have one picture of Adam, though you cannot tell it is him as he is wearing a gorilla costume. The costume was part of the show. I remember the Wizard of Oz shtick. It was a hilarious act and was always well received.

I went to college with Adam at USF in Tampa in the early to mid 70s, although I did not know him well. He performed stand up in the University Center frequently and I always enjoyed his shows there. Most impressive to me though was his turn as Alex in the Speech Department’s production of “A Clockwork Orange.” He shared the role with another actor, who was Alex as Narrator, and the way the two men interacted with one another was remarkable. Somewhere in a box I have a clipping which features an amazing photo of the two of them on stage together. Adam had great talent and could have pursued an acting career, but it was obvious his first love was comedy. I saw him once again in the mid-80s at a comedy club in Atlanta, but wasn’t able to get backstage to meet with him. I had brought the clipping and photo to show him and thought he’d get a kick out of it. I just saw something online about “A Clockwork Orange” and it made no think of that incredible performance 40 years ago. I’m so sorry to learn he’s no longer with us and wanted his family to know that there are many of us who will never forget him.
For me Jon Leslie (Adams brother)To anyone interested there is a memorial coming up for Adam
(Yes it’s late 2015!!!! Since I don’t have any of your information ….look here for a quick detail after New Years 2016.
Leave you name and if your interested in participating
It will be here on the west coast. Southern California
Thanks
I stayed in a bungalow colony called Hoffman’s. Across the road was another bungalow colony. I don’t know how or why, but I hung out with them one summer. I loved what free spirits they were. Jodie has the most amazing hair. She turned me on to Laura Nyro. I was 15 or 16 and I remember them almost 50 years later. I am sorry to hear of their passing.
