Saginaw? It's gone… the club, that is.
We don’t normally mention this kind of thing here…
We were scheduled to work in Saginaw, MI, this weekend. (Yeah, yeah, stop bragging!) At a club called 6 Shooters. Some folks know it as Shooters. Got a phone call a couple Saturday nights ago. (Strategically placed so as not to actually get one of us live, no doubt! If you wanna call a comic, but not actually talk to him/her, call on a Saturday night.) On this particular Saturday, however, we’re home; we answer. And we’re told that, 13 days hence, we’ll not be needed in Saginaw. No more comedy at Shooters. Less than two weeks notice. No offer of compensation, partial or otherwise.
We make this public for two reasons: If you’re booked at Shooters, start making phone calls now. And secondly, we’re looking to replace our cancelled date. We are available this weekend, to put it another way.
What’s going on in the Mitten-Shaped State, comedy-wise? Comedy is booming everywhere else. The Great Lakes State, however, seems to be having its difficulties. Stay tuned. And send us an email if you have any openings for two plucky comedians this weekend.

Hey guys–I agree with most everything you say. Jon Stewart did a fine job. And I submit that the reason comdeians like Stewart. Letterman, and Rock don’t get credit for doing what they do and doing it well at the Oscars is that most people don’t really understand or appreciate comedy. Not really. Comedy, as you well know, is every bit as fine an art as poetry, painting, or serious drama. Hell, read Shakespeare. The man makes fart jokes, for God’s sake. And it counts as great art. So, if people don’t like Stewart at the Oscars, what were they expecting?Keep up the good work,DR
It seems the website for the club still exists. The comedy section says something about “Stay tuned!” Too bad they bailed on ya. Comedy is going well in MI. Lots of things going on in Detroit, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and other assorted one nighters. Hope you guys get up here soon.
That place was always kinda wierd anyway. But I had fun there, and Danny Ballard was an interesting guy. Sad to see it go.
