In A Nutshell

BRIAN MCKIM and TRACI SKENE are writers and professional standup comics. They were featured in Season 7 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. They are also the creators of SHECKYmagazine.com.

Launched April 1, 1999, and “dedicated to the glorification of standup comedy,” their internet “blogazine” is read by thousands of comics, standup comedy fans, industry figures and media in 43 countries.

Each has appeared on numerous network, syndicated and cable TV shows. Brian appeared on Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS) on October 11, 2013.

Two more comedy tours, not hooked up to beer or soda pop this time, but to radio shows. Radio and standup have a lucrative, symbiotic relationship. Always have, always will.

Click on over to The Friends of the Bob & Tom Show Comedy Tour page to see who is coming to where. Bob Zany, Greg Hahn, Kathleen Madigan and bunch of other B & T regulars are coming this fall to the towns that carry that syndicated humor and talk show.

The next announced date for the Opie & Anthony Travelling Virus Tour, in Holmdel, NJ, will present Carlos Mencia, Bob Saget, Jim Norton, Bob Kelly, Bill Burr, Patrice Oneal, Rich Vos and Tracy Morgan.

Comics as rock stars. Here they come. Tours, in theaters, with certified comedy stars. Not just one or two stars; not just one or two tours. Do we tempt the irony gods by proclaiming that standup is back to boom levels? We’ll appease them by saying it is close.
