Sometimes they get it write
FOS Rabbi Bob Alper sent us a link to an article that appeared in the Toronto Star. It’s a lengthy profile of Alper and Azhar Usman, the Chicago-born Muslim, University of Minnesota law school grad and co-founder of the “Allah Made Me Funny” comedy tour. The occasion is tonight’s Laugh In Peace Tour show at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.
He still uses humour in sermons. “When I give a sermon, I hope I move people spiritually. When I make people laugh, I know I’ve moved them spiritually.”
The article, by Ron Csillag, is, says Alper, “(The) best article ever written about my work with Muslim and Arab comics.” Which is why it is worth noting here.
