Union Plaza Comedy Zone Out Of Commission
We’re staying over in Vegas one more day before pushing off for our first of two brief forays into SoCal. We’re downtown at the Lady Luck. We popped on over to the Plaza (Site of the fabulous SHECKYmagazine.Comics Only Reunion in ’01! Should we have another one?!?!) and we learned that the Comedy Zone, normally in the cleverly named Plaza Showroom is, according to the guy in the Cashier’s Cage, temporarily dark pending relocation inside the Plaza. He said that it’s been dark for two weeks and that there is no tentative re-open date. This being Vegas, we’re figuring that it’s permanent lights out for the Zone in Vegas… at least at the Plaza. The Plaza’s marquee heralds the arrival of Dick Clark’s Rock Roll and Remember. Hmmm… Stay Tuned.

PLAZA PRESENTS COMEDIC PARODIES
AT 72 VOICES PER HOUR
WITH LARRY G. JONES
LAS VEGAS –Larry G. Jones, “The Man of 1,002 Voices” is taking his show and everyone from Cher to Willie Nelson along with him to the Plaza Hotel & Casino beginning Monday, Oct. 18.
Jones’ comedic impressions of celebrities and public figures from seven U.S. presidents to entire music groups such as The Temptations, entertain guests of all ages. Most recently, Jones performed at Fitzgeralds Casino/Hotel, where he received widespread acclaim. The Las Vegas Sun calls his performance a “high energy show that routinely elicits dozens of characters in rapid succession,” and accessvegas.com calls him the “heir to the Danny Gans throne.”
“We want our guests to have fun at our properties and that starts with dynamic entertainment” says Stephen Crystal, president of Barrick Gaming. “Larry G. Jones fits right in with what we offer; guests at his show start laughing as soon as he hits the stage and they don’t stop until after his show ends.”
Performances of Larry G. Jones, “The Man of 1,002 Voices,” will begin at 6 p.m. daily at the 300-seat Comedy Zone Showroom on the third floor of the Plaza. The show will be dark on Fridays. Tickets will be complimentary with any beverage purchase of $6.95 plus tax or more per guest.
