Real Men of Comedy Tour/Search
Click here to find out about the Bud Light/Real Men of Comedy Tour and to find out how to enter the Real Men of Comedy Talent Search. (The promoters are going to throw a lesser-known comic onto the front end of some of the Tour’s later shows. A comic from each of 15 markets will host a show (or two) and bring out Joe Rogan, Charlie Murphy and John Heffron in a large venue like the Tower in Philly or the Orpheum in Boston.)
do you know what it means if a city is listed on the schedule (like boston) but isn’t listed as one of the options for the local markets to audition in?(or do you know if there’s a contact email for these folks, as it seems to be absent from the website… or i’m dumb, or both)lovemyqPS just curious, i’m thinking of becoming a real man sometime maybe
Here’s what we reasoned: If there’s a show in Boston, but there’s not a Talent Search market listing for Boston, then it’s reasonable to assume that the winner of the Atlantic City market competition will open the Boston show.We figure that’s reasonable. And, if there’s no email address, then we reason that they don’t want to be bothered answering questions from comedians, as they’ll have their hands full with sorting through stacks of DVD’s from comedians and sending out invitations and scheduling shows and booking judges. We figure that’s reasonable, too.So, to recap: The “auditions” are limited solely to the markets listed… there is no email contact listed on the site…also, as it says in the small print– some Grand Prize winners will do more than one opening, thus the seeming paucity of audition markets compared to the number of dates listed on the tour…and, finally, you’re not dumb, you just seek more clarity and order than your average citizen.
