Last Comic Standing rumor mill churns
There’s L.C.S. auditions here on Monday, so the L.C.S. rumors are flying. A reader wrote to us and (requesting anonymity) said that the word on the street is that there ain’t gonna be a house this year. That’s right, no house. No “Let’s throw them all into a fake/reality situation and watch the sparks fly!” We’re hearing that it will be less Big Brother and more American Idol.
This will make it less of a Reality Show and, ironically, more realistic!
Should be interesting. (And, of course, we’ll be providing rumors/items of interest and, eventually, real time pissing and moaning!)

(A lot of the self-created drama and “alliance” was a turn off to me…made up for by some good stand-up towards the end.)<>Best part about LCS #3:<> ???<>Best part about LCS #4:<> Seeing Ty Barnett on national television. (I thought seeing the same people doing short sets each week during the initial cut down time and then in the extended single cut down weeks towards the end wasn’t the best move. I also think that the show’s abortively short time “on the boat” missed plenty of opportunities for people to get to know these performers… I think LCS 4 got lucky with Josh Blue–a performer that was instantly likable to the public (something that Chris Porter shared until his actual material made him seem meaner than the public thought he was…) As much as I’d LOVE for LCS to be decided behind the mic, I’m skeptical of this approach…knowing that the audience for this show is not one that is informed and aware of how stand-up comedy works… The audience for this show is the general public–and they don’t understand the process. And if you’ve ever seen a message board dedicated to reality tv when LCS is on, you’d be given examples of this all the time. “Why do they tell the same jokes?”The question becomes: How many comedians have 13 weeks worth of their funniest five minutes?Take a deep breath, everybody…pg–seattle
On Alonzo Bodden’s myspace blog, he’s pretty explicit in saying that there won’t be a house.

I’m not trying to bring in anything but the funny. Of course we’ll be seeing some unfunny as well as funny and i calls em assees em so it may get ugly at times.My only question is will Kathleen get as drunk as Paula?<>
